My Life’s Journey: P.S. It didn’t go to plan!
Hey! I’m Mia Daniel, and this definitely wasn’t the plan.
At 23, I somehow own a convenience store.
Yes, like, legally. With keys. And inventory. And regulars who think I’m their therapist.
By day, I sell energy drinks, cigarettes, and milk. By night (or in 4-minute breaks between customers), I write a murder book. Because what else do you do when life throws you side quests to finish?
I was born and raised in London. Then I made a stop in Sri Lanka to collect a diploma. I got married and grew up a little before returning to my home base. As a kid, I hated reading. No patience, no interest. That changed one Christmas, when someone gifted me a book of 100 short stories. That was the day the light caught the candle, and I haven’t looked away since.
I have a diploma in business management. Which is adorable, because not once have I used it in the shop I now run. I’m the lawyer, accountant, stock person, floor manager, and chaos coordinator. But I don’t do it alone. My husband and my sister are my sidekicks (and occasional sanity checkers), helping me keep it all running.
The murder novel I’m writing? That decision was made at exactly 2:57 a.m. one night, when I should’ve been asleep. But instead, my brain said: let’s write a whole book. And here we are.
Most days I’m lifting crates, solving supplier drama, and answering “Do you sell lighters?” twelve times by the end of the day. Somewhere in the middle of it, I write. I don’t always get it right. Some days I cry, like, a lot. But most of the time, I show up. That’s the point, right?
I don’t have some five-year, color-coded life plan. I do have a stubborn dream. I want to finish this book. Then I’ll write another one, and eventually a whole series. One day, I’ll watch those stories light up a screen.
This blog is part of that. It’s the behind-the-scenes. The proof that “when you make a plan, God laughs” is just the beginning, not the end.
So if you’re off-course, off-schedule, or off the rails entirely, good news, you’re not broken. You’re just traveling your own route.
And if all else fails, there’s always bubble baths and a 5 season series to set things right.
So if you’ve ever felt like your life didn’t quite match the brochure, welcome. You’re in the right place. Let’s see where this goes.

Hey! That’s me for those wondering whose the voice behind the blog!

This was taken in a bookstore in Malaysia. I was supposed to be on vacation. I found myself here instead.
Still Here? I Like You Already.
If you made it this far, thank you.
Seriously. Out of all the corners of the internet, you ended up in mine and that means a lot. Whether you came for the chaos, the curiosity, or the quiet confession, I’m glad you’re here. Maybe you’re figuring life out too.
This blog isn’t about being perfect or polished. It’s about showing up. Dreaming big while stocking shelves. Writing plot twists between price checks. Crying a little, laughing a lot, and chasing something that won’t let you quit.
If that sounds like your type of journey, stick around.
Follow along. Read the posts. Drop a comment. Come back when life gets weird (or when you just need to remember that everyone’s winging it).
This is just the beginning and I’d love to have you along for the ride.
Plot twist: it might get really good.
